Guidance for Authors

Rules for accepting articles for publication

Forwarding address for authors interested in publishing their articles in the scientific quarterly “Studia Europejskie – Studies in European Affairs”: journalse@uw.edu.pl

From 2021 onwards, articles in the quarterly are published only in English.

Authors submitting potential articles for free-of-charge publication in the journal are asked to follow the rules of formatting and text editing, otherwise they will not be accepted (download: Guidelines for Authors). We kindly request that each article contains an abstract (about 1/3 page) and 6 keywords. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of ghost-writing, please indicate all co-authors who participated in the creation of the article.

Authors of articles accepted for publication are required to notify the Editorial Office of the CE UW Publishing Program (in the form of a declaration) about any potential existence of any so-called conflict of interest. By a conflict of interest, the Editors mean the existence of a financial or personal dependency between authors or their institutions and other persons or organizations that could improperly influence the content of articles prepared by the authors.

Authors of articles accepted for publication are required to notify the Editorial Office of the CE UW Publishing Program about any possible source of funding for the prepared article (i.e., financial contribution of research institutions, associations or other organizations).

The editors of the quarterly “Studia Europejskie – Studies in European Affairs” do not charge any fees for the publication of an article, nor do they offer remuneration to authors and reviewers.

Average time from submission to publication – 140 days.

The main criterion for an article’s failure to be published is the paper’s inconsistency with the subject scope of the quarterly, the lack of up-to-date data and information on the topic discussed in the article as well as a lack of linguistic quality.
