Biography
Holder of a PhD in Political Sciences from Ilia State University (Georgia, Tbilisi). Her research interests cover the political behaviour of post-Soviet societies, with a focus on social protests which have emerged through inequality between social groups. She has obtained several research scholarships in the framework of the EU’s funding schemes. Over a period of four years, Dr Machurishvili worked at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia under the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Georgia. She is Associate Professor of Political Sociology at Caucasus University at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (Georgia, Tbilisi).
