Marko Ala-Fossi

Biography

University Lecturer in Journalism and Adjunct Professor (Title of Docent) at Tampere University, Finland. Before his academic career, Dr. Ala-Fossi worked as radio news journalist, news producer, and market analyst at Yleisradio, the Finnish public service broadcasting company. He was a visiting research fellow at the University of Leeds, UK, in 2015. Dr. Ala-Fossi has also published widely on media policy in peer-reviewed academic journals and coordinated several policy reports, most recently in two national media policy research projects (2017–2018, and 2019) commissioned by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications. He is the author of 80 research publications.
