Polityka migracyjna Unii Europejskiej: stan obecny i perspektywy

EU Migration Policy at present and its prospects for development

Abstract

The problem of immigration, particularly illegal, is a highly politicized issue in most of the EU member states. Countries such as Italy, France or Spain are deeply interested in reducing the inflow of clandestine workers from Sub-Saharan Africa. This anti-immigration pressure has profound influences on common EU migration policy. The aim of the paper is to present the evolution of European policy of migration management. The Author demonstrates that the migration has been linked from the very beginning of the European integration with the security issues. However, such policy does not take into the consideration important demographical challenges to the EU economy, especially the aging population problem.
