Prospects for the development of Poland’s foreign trade after the accession to the European Communities

Abstract

The introduction of Euro has reinforced its position on the global financial market as an issue, reserve and invoicing currency. We have also witnessed an increase in the number of loans made in Euro. The article deals with expected consequences of the future launch of Euro in Poland. The author describes possible advantages and disadvantages of the common currency for Polish economy. The main conclusion is that the scale of effects will be correlated with the moment of Poland’s inevitable accession to the European Monetary Union.
