Długość życia i stan zdrowia społeczeństwa a nakładyna ochronę zdrowia w krajach europejskich

Longevity and health condition of the society and outlays on health protection in European countries

Abstract

The authors compared 3 groups of countries: „old” EU members (i.e. “the fifteen” prior to the May 2004 round of accession), “new” EU members (2004 and later accessions) and selected for mer Soviet republics, transformed in to independent countries after the fall of the Soviet Union. The third group includes only coun tries which have not bec me members of the European Union. The article indicates significant effect of health care outlays upon the avera gelife span as well as on health condition of particular societies. This observation has been supported by high correlation coefficients of the data analysed, such as health indicators, provided for each country, and comparison of arithmetic averages calculated for each analysed group
