Zlatko Hadžidedić

Biography

Ph.D., is an associate professor of Political Science and International Relations and the founding director of the Center for Nationalism Studies (Sarajevo). His scholarly work focuses on nationalism, liberalism, identity, and the structural role of nationalism in international relations. He is the author of Nations and Capital: The Missing Link in Global Expansion (Routledge, 2022), and Forced to be Free: The Paradoxes of Liberalism and Nationalism (DWV, 2012), both of which advance an original theoretical approach to the study of nationalism and its relationship to political modernity and global capitalism. He has held academic appointments at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology, the University of Sarajevo, and the American University in the Emirates (Dubai). In addition to his academic career, he has extensive experience in public service, having served as a political adviser to several ministers in the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
