Seray Baykal

Biography

Ph.D., earned her doctoral degree in International Relations in 2024, with a dissertation titled The Impact of Changes in Public Diplomacy Activities in the Digital Age on Turkish Foreign Policy. Her research expertise lies in the fields of diplomacy, including science diplomacy, public diplomacy, space diplomacy, and digital diplomacy, as well as foreign policy analysis. Dr. Baykal has contributed to several high-profile research projects. She has worked as a researcher on the KA2-A2 Project: “Digital Diplomacy: Building a Common Future Through Technology,” funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program. Additionally, she has participated in the Jean Monnet Module Project Challenges and Opportunities for the Future of the European Union and the project A Young Perspective on the Future of Turkey-NATO Relations, which was supported by NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division in 2022. In 2023, she was involved in the project Learn2Unite: Unity Against Challenges Faced by NATO – Simulation-Based Learning, also funded by NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division. Currently, Dr. Baykal is a postdoctoral researcher on the project Reconciling Social Sciences and Space: Shaping the Future with an Interdisciplinary Perspective on the New Space Ecosystem, funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).
