Biography
Professor of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute in Warsaw. Having graduated from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, she worked for 14 years at the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Jastrzębiec near Warsaw, where she conducted research in the fi eld of genetics and cattle breeding. In the years 2000–2009, Prof. Grochowska worked at the Offi ce of the Committee for European Integration (OCEI) in Warsaw as a counsellor to the minister. Until August 2003, she conducted analytical work on the functioning of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and also participated in the preparation of materials for various public bodies regarding Poland’s accession negotiations to the EU in the fi eld of agriculture. From September 2003 to the end of 2005, Prof. Grochowska worked in the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission in Brussels as a national expert. After returning to the OCEI, she continued analytical work on EU policies, focusing on the next reform of the CAP in the context of EU and international settings. Since 01/04/2011, she has been working as a professor at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – NRI. At present, she participates in research projects on agricultural and rural development strategies in Europe and other regions.
