Mirza Smajić

Biography

Ph.D. – is a full professor at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo. From 2015, he served as vice dean for Teaching and Work with Students, and since October 2019, he has been head of the Department for Security and Peace Studies. Dr Smajić is a permanent lecturer in the “Security Policy of BiH” course organised by the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has consulted for numerous domestic and international organisations, including the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina. His research focuses on security studies, human security, national security, law enforcement, and police studies. He has authored or co-authored four books and numerous scholarly articles published in Bosnia and abroad. Dr Smajić has also participated as a researcher or consultant in many congresses and projects across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Czechia, Slovakia, and Croatia.
