Melania-Gabriela Ciot

Biography

PhD Habil. Associate Professor at BabeșBolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Faculty of European Studies, Director of the Doctoral School “European Paradigm” (in the field of international relations and European studies), coordinator of the Master’s program “Management and International and European Negotiations” and Director of the Centre of International and European Negotiations and Mediations. Dr Ciot was State Secretary for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2017-2019, and was appointed as Special Representative of the Romanian Government for the Relations with the European Parliament for the period when Romania held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Dr Ciot leads intensive scientifi c and research activity, which includes the writing of 15 books, chapters in 28 collective volumes and articles and studies in 59 international and national journals. Her research interests are negotiations, European affairs, decision-making processes, idiosyncrasies, and cultural diplomacy.
