Max Guderzo

Biography

Ph.D., is a professor of International History, with previous academic appointments at the Universities of Urbino (1998–2004), Florence (where he also held the Jean Monnet Chair in the History of European Unification until 2017), and Siena thereafter. His research focuses on U.S. foreign policy, European integration, and issues related to Spain, Latin America, and Italy. Dr. Guderzo has authored several books, including Spain’s Neutrality in World War II (1995), The U.S. Attitude Towards European and Transatlantic Integration in the 1960s (2000), and U.S. Relations with Latin America During the Carter Administration (2012). He has also co-edited interdisciplinary volumes on a range of topics, such as Raw Materials and the International System (2004, Russian edition 2008), EEC/EU Enlargement (2005), Spain in the Final Years of the Franco Regime (2009), The International System in 1975–1985 (2010), EEC/EU Foreign Policies (2015), Current Issues in International History (2015), and The Euro (2016). Dr. Guderzo has published numerous articles, essays, and book reviews in Italian, English, French, and Spanish on these subjects, further contributing to the academic discourse on international relations and European history.
