Biography
PhD, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. He is the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. Dr. İçener holds a BSc in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University, an MSSc with Distinction in European Integration, and a PhD in European Studies from Queen’s University, Belfast. His research and publications focus on EU enlargement, EU external relations, Romania and Turkey’s integration with the EU, and the Cyprus issue. Dr. İçener has published in peer-reviewed journals including “Southeast European and Black Sea Studies”, the “Journal of Contemporary European Studies”, “Perspectives on European Politics and Society”, “Insight Turkey”, and “bilig: Journal of Social Sciences of the Turkic World”.
