Biography

Researcher and educator with the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University, Canada, and an affi liated researcher at the University of Latvia Centre for European and Transition Studies, focusing on transatlantic relations, European issues, post-Soviet affairs, and media. He is a veteran journalist who covered Russia and post-Soviet countries for the world’s largest news agency, Reuters, with his bylines on stories from nearly 60 countries, including Syria, Turkmenistan, and North Korea.
