Bożena Gierat-Bieroń


Professor and lecturer at the Institute of European Studies, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. Professor GieratBieron has been a visiting scholar at Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland), Glasgow University (the UK), Groningen University (The Netherlands), Sassari University (Italy), the University of Leuven (Belgium) and Osaka and Kobe Universities in Japan. She has also served as the co-ordinator of an MA Euroculture Programme (a European Consortium of the following prestigious Universities: Groningen, Gottingen, March Bloch, Strasbourg, Uppsala, Bilbao, Olomouc and Udine). Her main academic interests are European Models of Cultural Policies, the EU Cultural Policy, and the theory of Europeanisation. Prof. Gierat-Bieron has authored 6 books and more than 46 articles. She has worked for the National Centre of Culture in Warsaw, Poland, as well as the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, and participated in various international scientifi c conferences and projects. She is currently a Director of the Cultural Diplomacy Post-Graduate studies.
